Julietta Conte is the top executive of the familys corporation, La Dolce Famiglia bakery. Work is her passion, and her Milan apartment her sanctuary. Until her sister demands she cast a spell from this mysterious book which her sister insists helped all her siblings find love. Determined the whole thing was nonsense, she casts the spell and up pops Sawyer Wells who offers her an exclusive partnership with his international chain of boutique hotels. Juliettas inability to connect in the bedroom makes her think it'll be easy to ignore sexy Sawyer and focus on business. So why is her body responding so strongly to her brother-in-laws friend? With a once-in-a-career chance to take the bakery global, can she risk mixing stone-cold business with red-hot seduction?
Having read the previous books, I couldn't wait for Julietta's story. I was not let down. This book had a sexier, dangerous element to it that wasn't present in the other stories with traces of BDSM. Traces. In honesty, they began to wear on me a bit, but just as I was thinking the thought, the tables turned and the characters evolved. This was the perfect example of how to stand out in romance by doing the unexpected and demanding the characters follow a unique path to happiness. Both the hero and heroine were strong, with a backstory I couldn't help but be drawn in by. Not without its quirk and humor, the book also had a serious side. The only fault was the conflict drag toward the end. I felt it could have been tidied a bit sooner. Recommended.
