Nailed It: Half Moons

0

Another week, another mani :)

This one received so many compliments when I wore it to my church's sisters weekend back in May. (I'm just a wee bit behind on posting haha) It looks fairly complicated but if you have the time, it is dead easy. Promise!

The only trick with this manicure is the time it takes. You need to paint your base colour, let it dry completely (I usually do overnight just to be safe) and then do the second colour (I do it the next morning).

All you need is your base & top coat, your two polish colours (I used Julep Zelda & Nails Inc Porchester Square), and binder reinforcement thingies.

Steps:
1) Paint your base colour like you would any other mani (base coat, 2 coats of colour, quick drying topcoat)

2) Let it dry completely (very important!)

3) Lay 1/4 - 1/2 of binder reinforcement or sticker over base of nail and make sure it is secure, especially on the sides where it meets your skin.

4) Paint 2 coats of your second colour and remove sticker immediately after second coat. Apply topcoat.

That's it!

Above is a photo of Julep Zelda on it's own (before I painted the half-moons). Such a gorgeous colour! And it wears incredibly well - maybe it's the foil formula? But that stuff sticks like glue haha I wore it at camp last week and aside from my pointer finger nail (which always gets beat up a bit) and a few random chips, it lasted pretty much the whole week.

And if you want to sign up for Julep, you can do so by clicking here. (I will receive points for referring you just fyi) If you search around, you can usually find a promo code to get your first monthly box free!

What are your thoughts on the half-moon mani? It's been around for a while, but I still think it's gorgeous :)
